City Pets is pleased to now offer your pets the state-of-the-art care for reducing pain and inflammation and aiding in healing a variety of conditions.  City Pets does this with the newest technology -- mobile laser therapy -- and we are one of only a small number of veterinary practices in the entire country that has such a device.

Treatment with our Class IV deep-tissue laser gives us a pain-free, non-invasive, drug-free and surgery-free alternative to healing and pain relief for your pets.  Laser therapy can also be used along with medication and alternative treatment method to enhance healing results.

Laser therapy has been scientifically proven to be successful in reducing pain and inflammation in acute conditions such as wounds, infections, inflammation, post-dental extraction pain relief, pain from sprains and strains, dermatological conditions and post- surgical healing and pain relief.  Laser therapy is also well suited for chronic conditions such as arthritis (degenerative joint disease), inflammatory bowel disease, gum disease, hip dysplasia, tendonitis, feline acne and geriatric care.

CityPets has already had remarkable success with the device.  Our Class IV deep tissue laser uses a simple, warm beam of laser light to penetrate tissue without cutting or damaging the skin or tissues in any way.  The laser energy induces a biological response in cells called “photo-bio-modulation,” which results in reduced pain, reduced inflammation and faster healing speed.

LiteCure Laser Machine

You are welcome to stay with us while your pet is receiving therapy.  Our portable machine delivers laser light through a noninvasive, hand piece which is gently massaged over the problem area.  Your pet feels a gentle, warm sensation which is so soothing that many pets have fallen asleep during their therapy!

After one of our doctors determines that your pet is a candidate for laser therapy, a treatment schedule will be set up for one of our trained nurses to visit your pet with the mobile laser. Treatment protocols are unique to each patient and their condition, and it depends on the condition being treated, the size of the area, the size of the animal and the like.

There can be immediate relief after the initial treatments, but the full, cumulative benefit which in many cases shows dramatic results may require several weeks of therapy for chronic conditions such as arthritis.

Please call us at 212.581.7387 (PETS) to learn whether laser therapy is appropriate for your pet.
